Charging System Is It Working Battery of Rectifier/Regulator?

It's all the same part cept the newer one adds the fuse in the output wire. That's why I suggested adding a fuse to the less expensive ones I linked too. If you look at your old one, I'd guess it DOESN'T have the fuse since its a 19 yr old motor I think after a few rec/reg outputs had shorted...

    Model Airplanes

Back in the day, we used to build balsa wood airplanes and hand line fly them. We'd cut, sand, straight pin and glue the perforated wood kits pieces together a top of the outlined templates. I recall we'd put wax paper on top of the paper templates so when the pins were pulled, the sub-assembly...

    Not good....

https://nypost.com/2018/01/17/fisher...ught-on-video/ I fish a lot (troll or casting) from my boat and have never had THAT close of call but, sometimes other boats do speed by me (mainly run-abouts like this one shown in vid for some reason) so close that I get thrown around, broken ribs once...

Cool, got it. I'll check, thx You'd have to un-ground (isolate/float) the other side (low side) of the stator winding from frame/ground. Once you have both the stator's output wires floating (neither electrically tied to ground/frame), full wave bridge rec would work fine. The...

    Just a heads up..........

Yea I hear ya, AMD says it won't effect their speeds (hooray for our video cards GPU's) but, we run Intel CPU's i5,i7 Gen 2-6 and we're getting vendor's emails disclaimers already saying "its out of their control"......Geeesh, we'll see. Intel claims speed reduction will mitigate over time...

    Metering battery voltage. Help?

Yes OldNew What problem? w/o a reg, that high voltage is normal. The Garmin shutting off is relatively a standard when it sees excessive supply voltage. In reg'd systems a bad reg flaking in and out will almost always spike the voltage but, flaky stator and stator connections and the like...

Correction on that house batt. switch, meant to say "Off, On, Combine"............Just a standard "dual circuit" batt switch is all where both house batts will be switched on or off at the same time with the addition feature of being able to combine them together if need be. Although the lower...

Agreed that you'd need higher capacity, as such, I'd personally go with at least a 120A unit. Doubling the capacity rating in this case is a safer bet. Also, reviewing my old school notes and noting there are a few ways to skin a cat, .......Method below (sorry no pretty pictures embedded) also...
