First Time Boat owner needs advise

The "DV" designates a specific hull design that would not affect the documentation in question. The repair manual would be specific to the motor, not the hull. Owner's manuals are typically generic, boiler plate type documents. https://cobaltboats.com/art/manuals/1984_owner_manual.pdf

    Boat lift options?

    That's "work".......motors are nowhere close to being 100% efficient. 3/4 HP, 1 phase AC Motor FLA is 13.8A at 120 VAC. You have two motors.... 27.6A x 120VAC - 3,312 Watts https://www.magnumlift.com/pilespac/Magnum%2010K.pdf

    90 Jonhson starter rebuild

The usual problem is not enough initial starting torque. Battery terminals clean? Battery cables good? Battery fully charged? Did you confirm nothing is binding after you reassembled? Did you check to make sure the commutator wasn't burnt or shorted? Mine was getting "slow". Tore it apart...

    Boat lift options?

Depending on what size lift your looking at a demand of at least 3.3 kW. That's a heck of load to power with a DC power source. Nothing overhead unless you have a boat house setup. Two overhead mounting beams are the perfect "rooster" which to defecate on the boat. Locally, Magnum and...

    Help identifying wiring on starter

Personally, I would not remove/change anything. Boat wiring tends to be a mess. Everything is done to save time and money. I want a good, clean feed to my electronics. I would disconnect existing wire from the fuse panel and run new wire back to your house battery.

    Ok 1 more oil question

Its not that simple….motor can be programmed to use 100:1 (synthetic) or 50:1 (conventional) oil. Which one is it programmed to use? A tank full of 50:1 would suggest it’s programmed to run 50:1 oil. You could of course use XD 100 with either setting but you would be spending twice as much...

Primer bulb to transfer gas into another tank.

If your talking about a permanent mount, below deck tank, your trying to pull fuel against an “anti-siphon” valve…. Can’t “siphon” from the tank by design…

Non skid instead, carpet or vinyl

carpeting by any other name is still carpeting ;) Does not resolve the problem of moisture getting trapped between the two surfaces nor slim and $rap getting ground into the weave

    Good compression tester’s?

I bought my KD gauge probably 30 years ago. It hasn’t been iso tested in quite a while but have not reason to doubt the results

    E150DCXSCR 2008 150hp

There is separate 1-3 gallon oil tank. There is a primer bulb on the oil line. Remove oil line from motor and prime using the primer bulb. Once you get oil to the pump reconnect and your ready to go. Run premix in the first tank of fuel to make sure the oiling system is working properly...

2016 Mercury Optimax 150 Pro XS Reviews?

The Opti is quieter than a carbureted 2 stroke and louder than a Yami 4 stroke. Opti are good motors but I’m done with $30 a gallon oil. When my current motors dies I’m going 4 stroke

Hull form versus engine power and torque In maintaining a boat on plain

Running an under-sized prop is counter productive. Your leaving much needed Horsepower on the table by limiting the output of your motor through prop selection.

    Trolling Motor Wire Step Down

BTW: 4 gauge is larger than 8 gauge wire ;) Anderson connectors work great in these situations. They use "solder cup" contacts (pins) so there is no problem mismatching wire sizes. Just select a connector contacts that fits the larger wire of the two...

Hull form versus engine power and torque In maintaining a boat on plain

Plain and simple….hull design determines planing speed. A hull gives x amount of lift for a given planing surface. If the boat is designed to plane at 10 kts. It doesn’t matter how you get to 10 kts. Only that you get there. To change… increase planing surface or decrease weigh per given hull...

    Transducers and Hull Thicknesses

Assume your installing an advanced “rock on a string” depth finder. Not getting by with the poor acoustic properties of silicons and sealants on a fish finder type setup. Too much signal lose and frequency shift. Then there is the issue of compensating for deadrise. An uncompensated deadrise...

    1990 Force....couple issues

Here is what you want. https://www.fuelhoseziptie.com/ Zip tie guns are the easiest means of tightening a tie but grabbing the tie with the side of a pair of needle nose pliers right where body comes out of the head and twisting/rolling the pliers, using the head as leverage, works just as...

Cannot find the right propeller 225 OceanRunner

What props are you looking at? I’ve had no issues finding props for my 1997. Don’t remember if I had to change thrust washers or not. Used Merc Flo-torque hub in a 15x15 Merc Enertia. Hub looked long until you torqued the nut down on the shaft to seat the hub in prop
