    replaced th drive unit today and the thing wont line up with the shifter put it in forward gear pulled it off and the new one wont line up when it does it binds up and only goes in forward wont come out of gear what am i doing wrong ive done many of them and this one is killin me please help

    i have replaced the stator twice why does it still continue to melt some one had mentioned to get a voltige regulator that goes where the water jacket is rmove an replace it with regulator will this work or what do i need to do it has 16 volts comming out of it as far as the voltmeter says
