    Force 125 lacking power

Reeds: If the reeds are bad they will let gas come back through out the front of the carb. When you pump the ball to prime the motor, does the ball get hard? I know you changed the diaphragm but it could have gone bad??

The only thing to do would be is to change the o-ring. Have you tried it after it's back together? Was there a metal ID tag on the pump anywhere? If so, that tag has the model # and you can order parts from that tag. You have the model/serial# for the motor? That also can help with ordering parts.

1995 90HP Force Outboard Fuel Starvation

Early in the post you said "Also while on the water at full throttle it will sometimes grab RPMs and fully accelerate so I don't believe there is an issue internally as once at full RPMs it will continue to run smooth until throttled down" This leads me to believe the ignition system has a...

Volvo Penta Controls for a Trophy 2359???

The throttle cable should be close to the same size. The shift cable, add 4-5ft. You can always hide the extra cable but they won't strech the 3 extra inches if too short. 1-2 long won't hurt anything. Changed throttle/shift(wore out) cables on a 21ft. The were 10ft. too long. They worked ok...

    Seized outdrive

You'll need special tools to rebuild. Put it back together and run it. Might last 20min. or 2 years?? Just make sure you pressure test the drive.

    Help please

The Volvo is the BEST drive out there. Your Volvo is a good one but VERY expensive to fix. One test: walk past the drive and push it to the left and right. If it travels more than 1/4-1/2 in. That repair can cost 1-2K I love Volvo's had 4 but I wouldn't buy one that old. Good luck. Get a newer...

    Will it work??

The best way to ask this question is explain what year/model/ hp they were hooked to?? Is one a duo-prop?

    Intermediate bearing?

No. The older Volvo's had 1-2 bearings depending on the motor. Sounds like the gimbal is bad.

Force 120 hp trouble whith tilt/trim

I hope it goes back together. Usually there's nothing in the pump that can be fixed, the only thing is a can of spray cleaner and compressed air. A piece of dirt, smaller than a pin head can make the pump malfunction. A flat spot on an o-ring or a wear spot can cause problems. Had a problem...

Thanks to Jerry Jerry for all of his advice. Merry Christmas

You said: I have also created an own "used part stock", have worked with these engines for over 20 years. Have collected a lot of parts, maybe to many!!! Yes I know the feeling of too many parts. I moved a couple years ago and the amount of stuff I sold to the scrap yard was unreal. Happy New...

1995 90HP Force Outboard Fuel Starvation

If this is the Mercury ignition system?? Then the "trigger magnets" I don't think are used??? Turn the flywheel over and take a picture. When FrankA (RIP))made this post it was for the pre Mercury setup.

Force 120 hp trouble whith tilt/trim

I can't find a good parts diagram that shows these parts in detail. If there is a o-ring or seal it might still be in the unit?? In post #3 of the Force forum, there is a post with FAQ about the T@T repairs. The post contains pics of the internal parts and how they line up. They're not your...

Force 120 hp trouble whith tilt/trim

If it's not leaking?? the seals are ok. The Hyd. pump itself, don't take it apart. They can be real hard putting it back together. The o-rings come in a kit, but you'll need the model # from the tag on the pump The repair I suggested: take the o-rings off and turn them around.

Racerone and Jiggs and Don deserve to be on the list too. Lots more, just don't remember right now. I hit 70 this year and the memory is shot. I can remember the words to a song from the 60's but can't remember what I ate for breakfast :)

99% of the problems with these units is LUBRICATION or lack of lube. The seal on the ram dries out and seizes and locks the ram or the seal pops out and leaks. I use White Lithium or even motor oil or marine grease. Lube it often.

95 is all Mercury T@T On the other side of the housing 180d from the pressure relief is a cover, under that is a spool and sleeve. and a spring with check valve. The assembly needs to be cleaned. Use soap and water and then lube with WD-40 when you reassemble. Some cleaner/chemicals can swell...
