    Does anyone know where I can get a diagram (online) of the control linkage at the motor for a 70's Evinrude 70HP? I recently installed a 70HP Evinrude and have the linkage messed up. When I shift into forward by boat goes backwards.

    alternator conversion kit

    Does anyony know of a reputable company that sells a good alternator conversion kit for a 1986 170 merc.? My voltage reg. is burnt again and I want to avoid replacing it forever.<br /><br />Thanks.

    My Merc. 170 Voltage Reg. smoked.

    After launching my boat and heading out I smelled smoke. I noticed a pin hole from my voltage reg. shooting out smoke, so I shut the engine off, but it got worse and eventually glowing red with a little flame (with a lot of smoke I might add :eek: ). I unhooked my battery and it eventually...
