    shift cable timing on on my 4.3 L with a alpha 1 outdrive on a 1980's , 90's larson

    was wondering if i can sucessfully time the shifting from forward to reverse with the boat out of the water and just using the water hose with muffs on.did a removal of engine and drive and just putting everything back together.thanks for any input or help

    trim/tilt switches

    both of my switches have black wires coming from them with no color sleeves on them. do i have to ring them out with my meter or does it matter if i have them switched. this is a mercury I/O , 1990 model

    gas tank question

    I have a gas tank . its a poly tank and it has been sitting for about a year in my garage after i drained it . what is good to use to clean it out with before re-installing it ? picture is under " stringer questions" in boat restoration ,building and hull repair.

I see alot of post on deck repairs but I haven't seen anything on the deck thickness. My boat is a 1990 larson bowrider 17 footer. about 5 feet across at the widest point...

    I am not sure what is the size on stringer thickness on a 1990 larson bowrider 17 footer I/O mine were so rotted that i am not sure. any other pointers in putting new ones in would also help. thanks

    sterndrive shaft stuck in engine

    Hi There, This is a first time for me. I recently took off my sterndrive : alpha 1 gen1 . I had to take it off the more difficult way according to the manual. Driving the nut off the gear in the upper case to get the sterndrive off. It came off and of course the U-joint yolk and shaft are stuck...
