    Rebuilt floor question.

Have you adjusted the trim tab on the motor ?

    Best flooring options?

Thought about that stuff myself, but only find it in black, which would be to hot in summer.

Converting Roller trailer to bunks for my Starcraft 161

In my opinuon, 2x6 would be plenty, if your worried add a stiffener like I mentioned previously by adding a 2x3 on edge under the 2x6. You will need carpet or other surface on bunks for the hull to slide on. A 2x8 would create to much friction as a bunk board.

Converting Roller trailer to bunks for my Starcraft 161

Your boat is not that heavy, so the span would not be a big concern for me. However if your concerned, add a piece if angle iron/ angle aluminum in between then add your 2x6 or other size lumber to make your bunk. I have saw many trailers with a T shaped bunk, a 2x3 on edge bolted to a 2x4, or...

Will boat for this style trailer?

Your boat is light weight, most weight is closer to center, being just inside looks good to me as it will help center when loading. Adding side guides will make it even easier !

    BAR 🍸 OPEN

There are break proof glasses made of glass.....they are very thick and heavy. Our local glass maker ( Libbyy Glass) in Toledo Ohio has them. Small, about drink size, might be what you need. Very thick and robust, some years back, they advertised them by driving a car over them. I am sure they...

    This trailer has rocking bunks

Spacers and or washers, or modifying the bushings, can be done to snug things up. Some trailer mfgrs have a stop built into the mount that limits the travel of the bunk. Without pics I can't tell.

ALREADY.......season is just getting underway.......?? My boat gets put away thanksgiving weekend. There have been times it was well into December, all depends on weather.

Spark plugs and cap replacement interval

Here is the bottom line......are you willing to carry spare parts, can you change these parts out on the water ? Do you have a kicker motor to get you back ? How far can you paddle your boat ? Consider the afore mentioned situations, if you have no good answers, I would change everything...

    Transducer location

Can be very tricky to figure out.....there are areas to avoid, but finding that sweet spot can be time consuming. Some hit that spot first try, then tell everyone how easy it was, while others never find that sweet spot and blame the unit. I would seriously consider a mounting plate to attach...

    This trailer has rocking bunks

The pivoting bunks should have a stop to keep them from pivoting to far, as least all of the ones I have seen do. As the boat loads and unloads the hull shape changes as it goes over the bunks. In some cases, the sharper edge of the bunk can carry a lot of weight for a few minutes and over...

Very popular around my area, as mentioned they need to move but not flop around.

New prop and trim tabs update.

Good....but what is the mfgr's recommended max rpm at wot ? Rev limiter has nothing to do with max operating rpm. Limiter is just a safety item. If your always on the limiter, then you need more pitch on your prop.

Robalo2440 1995 Nav light needs repaired

Probably won't find an exact duplicate unless you stumble across some old new stock or maby Ebay. Manufacturers don't make there own accessories for their boats and after a couple years runs, new designs take over so ding hardware over 10 years old is difficult. Is there a name on any...

    Transon mounted trolling motor

Back trolling is just a way of going slower with better steering going backward. No different than having a bow mount and going forward, just less resistance to save on battery usage.

Ford 302 engine oil dipstick - 1995 OMC Cobra, Ford 302, VolvoSX

Even if the dipstick has the correct part number, doesn't mean it wasn't a bad stamping when it was made. Are there different size oil pans made for that engine. I would not be a fan if running on low oil just to make the dipstick look more accurate.

How do you screw into fiberglass/gelcoat without chipping?

That is worse for than just chipping, ouch !! I use special drill bits that cut the OD of the hole, these are called sheet metal drill bits. Also add some tape before drilling, then drill thru the tape...it does help. Std drill bits are not made to drill thin sheetmetal or fiberglass.. I...
