    1992 Mercury 40 hp 4 cylinder information

Took the advice and looked at the hoses connecting the oil tank to the fuel lines. Actually they look new and they are soft and pliable. Felt squeezed and looked closely, no signs of being dry or any cracking. Thanks for the tip....feel much better knowing they are good !!!

    Dual livewells, one switch

Disconnected both my live wells as I dont tournanent fish, only fish for fun and food. Makes great extra storage !! If you only use one just disconnect the one you dont use. Mine had seperate plumbing and wiring for each live well.

    Trim tilt

Consider the weight distribution on your boat. My Islander ran bow up until I moved the fuel tank forward and got rid of the rear jump seats. Moved back seats to the front of the dog house, not only gained another seat but moving that weight forward made a world of difference with the trim

No spark after spark plug wires wrongly placed… mercruiser 3.0

When I had my 3.0, first thing I did was using a felt tip marker, wrote the cylinder number on each boot and the cylinder number on each cap post. When I replaced them just copy the numbers onto the new cap and wires. Saves a lot of headache like you are experiencing

18’ nitro 150 blackmax rooster tail or no rooster tail?!?

Your best bet is to find a prop specialist in your area so he can see your setup. Very difficult to make any recomendations on here with so little information. A prop that is good on one boat may not be so good on another. Props need to be tunedvto your boat and motor as well as what you...

Boat two stroke engine stalls when throttle is applied unless I throttle up very slowly

Probably needs carb rebuild with a proper kit. Sitting for a year probably didnt help.

Mercury 90 running super rough, fuel coming out from throats of carbs.

Do a complete rebuild with rebuild kit for each carb. Just taking them apart usually doesnt work well and they will end up needing rebuilt anyway

    Engine turning over very slowly

If the battery is actually reading 12 volts then you battery is almost dead!! Full battery should read 12.6 volts or higher.. At 12.3 volts a battery is half dead, anything 11.9 volts or less is considered dead. You need to charge up your battery to start

Rerouted fuel line...too much to lift?

When it starts to die out just squeeze the inline ball, if it comes back to life then the vacuum might be an issue, but if it still bogs down then fuel pump is not the issue.
