    engine removal in a 27 ft bayliner with 5.7l volvo penta

    need to change both gimbel bearings,out drive is off.my question is do we have to remove the bell housing?after we got the outdrive off,theres 6 bolts that hold some kind of seal.some bolts come out ,others turn,thinking there is nuts on the other side? engine is all dissconnected,wondering...

    280 volvo penta outdrive

    had no problem last year,put the boat in the water and started out fine,after a few miles a knock between engine and outdrive,any ideas. thanks
