    225 mercury will not start

    i have a 225 98 efi Mercury that will not start. It tries to start but hits 2 times and then backfires. kind of like it is fireing at the wrong time. The mechanic said it has 2 ECM's is this true and how expensive are they. If bad.<br />thanks gwhbs
