    5hp overheat & stall problem ?

    I have a 5hp Mariner outboard. I believe it is a 1994 model. If I run it in the water for more than a short run it suddenly sounds like it loses power and stalls. To me it seems like it over heats. The cover over the motor seems hot and it smokes a little. How can I fix this ? :confused...

    Mix Ratio ?

    I have just gotten a 1997 Mariner 5hp. What mix ratio does it use ? Is it 50:1 also ? I accidently posted under another post, Sorry. :o <br />Thank you . <br />,Dan
