    with a 1.95:1 duo prop drive and 6000# with a 7.4 liter you should be in the F4 range, maybe an F5. with a 5.7, you would be in the F3 range with a higher ratio its what ever prop set you can get to WOT at. that is 5000 RPM with the throttle pinned to the console.

    dieseling is caused by a few things running rich, causing carbon buildup timing being too far advanced motor running hot check timing., use an IR thermometer and check temp also, if you shut them down hot (just coming in from a long run), they will diesel. let it idle for a few minutes.

    Kroil or better yet, mix 50% acetone with 50% ATF. if you just want to remove rust, oxalic acid mixed in a paste. then put a wet cloth over it to keep it moist.

    get your current prop trued up. I hit the only rock in Sand Bay almost 15 years ago. was in 6 feet of water, hit a 5 foot diameter rock. took out prop hub and 1 blade on one prop, and a blade on the other prop. came in with the boat shaking like a dog passing a peach pit.
