    MC-1 Drive Dog failure?

Your old motor is not a HP big boy so using your old gears does not concern me, but this is your money and not mine I would rebuild the one you have, but do check how much the special tools will cost. I spent over 700 just to do the lower on my B3 drive, and did that because there was no one...

2005 Mercruiser MPI 5.0L misfiring(?) when in gear, idles fine

Without a scanner we're feeling around in the dark. If spark was there then starting fluid should have ignited. Your spraying the spark arrestor but just take it off and look through it to see if it's clean Did you ever do the stuff listed in post 15?

    Mercruiser Neutral Safety Switch?

Thanks for clarifying I'll now assume you do not have 12V on the red/purple wire on key switch, correct? If this is the case, measure voltage on both sides of the 50 amp breaker, should be on both sides If 12V is not on both sides measure voltage to the square fuse on the starter post If no...

MAP sensor shows good readings IAC position list 40 (where it should be) but graph shows it's wide open trying to give it more air. As IAC opens the pulse width gets less which is opposite of what it should Pulse width shows it's try to give it less and less fuel Unplugging the MAP causes...

Engine won’t turn over - no spark

You have 2 relays on the motor, swap them and see if it's still a beep and no fuel pump If fuel pump does not turn ON then the ECM is not applying a ground to the relay. Pic below is from a 555 ECM (not yours, different pins) but when key is turned ON the Main power relay energizes which sends...

    Volvo Penta 3863330

The 5V reference comes from the ECM but any one of the sensors that use the reference can cause the voltage to be low if they are pulling to much current. Turn key ON and while measuring voltage disconnect each sensor one at a time and see if voltage comes back up Low voltage at the fuel pump...
