    MC-1 to Alpha One Conversion

What was the original motor that was attached to the alpha 1 outdrive? It would be best if it was from a 120/140/3.0 so the gear ratio would be correct.

Prop suggestion for 1995 60 hp Merc 2 cycle

Without a tach it's hard to determine what's best. If it's getting out of the hole ok I'd stick with what you have.

    Kicker motor vs towing

My Honda kicker weighs about 85 lbs. I've towed many miles with it and no issues. I keep the motor in the down position. I have an OMC bracket, can't speak for panther.

question on the starting a "2 cycle Merc" sticky

Older 2 strokes have there own ways to start especially cold. Whatever works is the correct method. Advancing the throttle by pushing that button accomplishes the same thing as the idle control lever. You don't mention anything about using the choke?

    Temp sender removal …

I don't know what you're working on but you try heating the block around the sensor. Maybe with a pencil torch. I'd try a square type ez out.

Heat it up in an oven and tap it on. Make sure you don't melt the rubber. Google "heat harmonic balancer in oven" for some ideas.

Harmonic Balancer pulley of Mercruiser 3.0 replacement

You should compare the two. I think the 2.5 uses just a pulley and the 3.0 uses a harmonic balancer.

Mercruiser 3.0 overheated, Is my motor shot?

No need to disconnect fuel line. With it disconnected there's a good chance fuel might go where you don't want it. As others said, there's something wrong with the gauge or maybe it wasn't screwed in enough.

What are normal temps idling with muffs on the sterndrive? Merc A1G1 Alpha one. 3.0

Mine never goes over 140 idling on muffs and that could take 15-20 minutes to get there if I did it that long. I normally have the throttle advanced slightly on muffs so it might be a bit higher than idle speed but not over 800.

    Sterndrive Gear Oil - Alpha 1 Gen 1 3.0 140hp

As far as I know, that drive calls for the High Performance gear oil, not Premium. If I can't get the High Performance for a good price I've been using Synthetic 75W90 for a number of years based on Bondo's recommendation.

Voltage between batteries and aluminum hull

You won't feel power touching battery + and hull. Just like you won't if you touched the + and - terminals on the battery. It has to overcome the resistance in your skin. In theory it's possible, but unlikely.
