    Did compression check. Came up with 120 on each cylinder. So compression seems good. Got a service manual, will check carb sync, and adjust max and idle timing and max throttle.

    Just ending this thread with my results. Ohmed out the stator at 0.5, no continuity to ground. Did a check of the regulator, which proved to be defective. Replaced the regulator, all is well now, charging at 13.5-13.8 Thanks all for the help.

It appears it’s a matter of just pulling the oil pump, pulling the drive shaft/gear out of the pump and then putting the pump back on. Can anyone confirm? Should I drain the oil tank?
