Well it started as a suspect Tach which was quickly diagnosed as faulty chargin system. The stator is giving 16v A/C at idle and the ignition is giving 12v. The diode check failed and the stator is showing about 6ohms instead of the suggested .15 (if I remember correctly). I almost had a heart...
