    aluminum rod

    Hello,<br />I have a 85hp kiekhaefer engine Theres a aluminum rod that goes into the lower unit through a rubber boot. I can't find what this part is, so that i can replace it. It leaks really bad.<br /><br />Any help is much apreciated.<br /><br />Thanks,<br />Cam

    Hello,<br />I have a merc serial # 1649737. From what i gathered at oldmerc.com it's a 1964 850, 85hp. I hope that I understood that right. The motor runs great. I have a pretty bad gear oil leak though. I don't have a manual yet, as I want to be sure of the year and model before I order...
