    120hp Force year?

About a 1992 to 1994. Pics of the lower unit will help narrow it down. When you can touch it? there's a round foundry stamp with the year in the center, located under the pack and coils or under the bottom carb on the intake.

1995 Force 120 will no longer idle

The real test is pinching the hose off as the motor runs. It sounds like you have an electrical problem. The following is the stator test. Need an analog type meter for the basic tests. Will not charge battery: 1. Check resistance between the yellow wires, you should read approximately 0.4 ohms...

    Force 120hp Major Overheat

Drop the lower, hook a hose to the pickup tube. Start it and check the results. Gets hot then?? Your exhaust passages might be clogged?? The relief ports look like the motors getting plenty of water.

1995 Force 120 will no longer idle

Fuel pump can be new and still be bad?? The primer/choke: it has a rubber diaphragm inside that can puncture and feed fuel unrestricted making the idle problem. I believe if you pinch off the hose from the primer to the base of the carb that will show if the primer's gone bad??? You try the...

1995 Force 120 will no longer idle

No idle: fuel pump diaphragm, sucking air somewhere. Sucking air: Try this: start the motor and spray starting fluid around the intake side of the motor. This includes the area under the coils/packs, at the carb bases. If the spray makes the motor run differently then it's sucking air. The 4...

    Picked up a 1990 Force 50HP yesterday.

The float bowl will show what condition the rest of the carb is in. If?? it's real dirty and corroded?? Then the jets and other parts will be that way too. Most times the spray cleaners work just fine.

    Picked up a 1990 Force 50HP yesterday.

If you buy the regular ones?? Then use duct tape to seal the edges. The tape needs to be put on before the motor gets wet as it won't stick very good.

    Picked up a 1990 Force 50HP yesterday.

(Three hours later I went in and told him it was done. Paint was shiny, Vinyl top was white. Looked like a grandma's car. With some timing adjustments, it was the strongest stock 318, I've ever run. A couple years later, I ended up giving it to one of my brothers after I picked up a 78 nova...
