    You sure you are not seeing bubbling up from the idle relief ports? Or exhaust bellows are not on correctly Unless your bilge is full of water, no way for water to get to the steering fork to exit that way

    It will be cheaper to find a complete motor used as a kicker with electric start, etc than to convert. However a couple of high-thrust electric trolling motors and you can move the batteries down low

    If the dizzy is in front, it's a Ford. If the dizzy is in back, it's a Chevy Ford marine 5.0 liters usually have the 351 cam and the GT40 heads. So you can probably grab a block from a truck Back to your motor. I would not worry about it until you verify the hull is sound
