Trailer bearing blowout. Need help with repair(s)

If it were me......had a similar incident a number of years back, bearing buddy came off while going down the highway and all the grease came out...and you know the rest of the story !! I am the kind of guy that fixes things right the first time so no future issues. I would cut off and reweld...

Carb should have no bearing on shifting unless you can't get the idle speed low enough to shift. What is the ebgine rpm when your shifting? No guessing here, need an accurate tach reading. Pasty gear oil is not a good sign, the older stuff was dark and a little thicker than today's gear oil...

    How do you trim?

Every boat will be different, also how weight is distributed and boat size. Neighbor's 22' Sylvan alum needs barely any trim adjustment, it just jumps up and shoots out on plane. A slight touch adjusts the bow to match wave heights. My 16' Sylvan alum, reacts very well to small inputs...

Whether law enforcement chooses to show up before or after dinner is an even bigger problem ! As a police officer in a high crime neighborhood, why would you want to be the first one to arrive on scene ? Your the sitting duck.

In today's lawlessness, the criminals have all the rights, victim's have very few. Keep good insurance coverage, or consider moving. We choose to live in an area that is hard on crime and criminals, not hard on victims. Big differences in crime depending on where you choose to live. Good luck...

    Kicker motor vs towing

No clue, just a Samsung phone thru TracFone at walmart. Never been out on the big lake when I haven't had service. Others in my boat don't have service. Years back we went to Hatfield McCoy trails in W Virgina, son had Verizon and me my old TracFone, ..I had service long before he gained...

    Kicker motor vs towing

Again, depends on where you boat and what typical conditions are. When I had my Islanders I had a 9.9 kicker on an adjustable transom mount. Had an ignition coil go out one night while on an evening cruise. Came back in 15 miles on the kicker motor. No problem, able to get a whopping 12 mph...

    Kicker motor vs towing

Very true....I have used the cheap tracfones for years...many years ! One reason is, I get thru when no one else can. No reason why, they use Vorizen towers, yet other vorizen customers can't get thru. When we had our motor home, I always had service while my wife's Verizon phone had little...

I would be kicking my own A$$ for not checking and paying attention to the weather before I ever went out !! Yes, I have been caught out in severe weather before, nobodies fault but my own for not paying attention and taking a stupid chance..

    Kicker motor vs towing

Not really, my main motor is oil injected two stroke, where my kicker is a pre mix and of course my bow mount runs off LifePo4 battery. If your not responsible enough to know which motor uses which fuel then park your boat and just watch from shore. Some things should not need a regular...

    New Winch or Winch Strap?

Gotta agree here, worked with steel cables for many years, never enjoyed using it. Flat strap for boat trailer and synthetic winch rope for my SxS....never an issue with either one.

    Kicker motor vs towing

Been a boat owner for over 60 years, always had backup propulsion just in case. On smaller boats a set of oars will work ( yes, folks do feel sorry for guys rowing) as my boats got bigger moved to gas powered kickers and in a few cases a good electric trolling motor works. How far you going out...
