Milky fuel in carb intake force 85hp

If that seal is leaking you maybe will have exhaust in the engine area. Look like there is not gasket between the adapter plate and mid section. The 75Hp Chrysler that are similar to you engine has a gasket 809825 between the plate and mid section. If that is leaking you will have exhaust in the...

Milky fuel in carb intake force 85hp

The seal under exhaust tube (number 1) is N/A. You have to make something of you own. I have used cork gasket material (two or three together) and it has worked out so far. You have to have some gasket material that are thick and can handle high temperature.

Could this ignition coil cause any damage?

No, you are measure in the wrong way. But it does not matter if you measure the secondary winding putting the black or red probe to ground or the thin (blue) control wire from the ignition system and the other probe to spark plug boot. You should measure the secondary winding between spark plug...

Could this ignition coil cause any damage?

No way the secondary resistance can affect the charging coil. The charging coils circuit is the input of the CD box/switch box and the CD box/switch box output channels circuit is the primery winding, the voltage can not go backwards. The ignition coil and all coils are a step up komponent. It...

Could this ignition coil cause any damage?

My experience is that CD ignition system has coils with lower resistance at secondary winding. Chrysler/Force, OMC and Mercury has 500-1200 Ohm for CD ignition coils. All magneto I have worked with Mercury, Chrysler, OMC, Yamaha, Suzuki etc. Have secondary winding resistance at 5 kOhm and higher.

Could this ignition coil cause any damage?

What is the value of the secondary winding? If it is in range 5-8 kOhm it fits magneto ignition with points. If it is in range 500-1000 Ohm then it is for CDI ignition.

Where is the front line on trim tilt hydraulic pump

Seams like there is no return line for the trim cylinder. Bcrosby, attach a pic of the trim cylinder. How is the return (down movement) for the trim cylinder piston?

1994 120 force outboard no reverse

As Jiggz says and follow his instruction. If you have the two piece drive shaft dual exhaust LU, you have to check the setting of the lower shift shaft. The position of it due to the OEM workshop manual you should thread it down (CW) until it bottom out then turn it back four turns.

Where do you get your parts?

Franz Marine service, if he not has the part you need it is N/A new. Used engines, Ebay, Outboard parts, iBoats, Master Tech Marine.

    Props

Maybe as jimmbo says and maybe the spacers between the housing and prop do not fit. There has to be a collar at the prop that goes into the housing if there is a LU with dual exhaust (exhaust goes out in the centrum of prop). I am not sure if the 125Hp had dual exhaust at some models.

Could this ignition coil cause any damage?

Does the Evinrude have CD (electronic) ignition? From my experience CD ignition system ignition coils has lower resistance at the secondary side then regular magneto system with points and condenser. Magneto system has about 5-8 kOhm resistance at secondary winding and CD system about 5-1200 Ohm...

    85 hp compression

From factory the compression was 140-150 PSI. 120 and pretty equal on all, not more then 10-15% in difference are acceptable. The value depends on how good compression tester you are using. But 120 PSI is good enough to run with.

1988 50 hp force no spark?

The stator for your engine should be 300-888793. Crowley Marine maybe have for 587 dollar, uuuuhhhh! Outboardignition.com has it for 320 dollar, aftermarket CDI Electronics. Not cheap either.

Bizarre starter behavior (won't "bench test" on motor)

If you pull the starter from the engine again and "bench test", does it run then? Something must have happened when you mounted the starter at the engine block. Worn brushers or bad brush springs, dirty commutator etc. But you says it is a brand new starter. If you connect positive wire from...

Bizarre starter behavior (won't "bench test" on motor)

When you jump start on the engine, where do you connect the negativ wire? Positive wire at the terminal at the starter and where do you connect the negative? At the starter housing or at the engine block or where? If you ground (negative wire) at the housing and the positive wire at the starter...

1980 chryler 85hp charger tach replacement

Is the factory ignition system the battery driven Magna Power system with a distributor or the Prestolite CDI ignition without a distributor? If the first one type of ignition system with a distributor you need to count how many poles the stator has. I think it has 20 or 12 poles then you have...

Won’t stay running 125 force pestoline

Yes you have to explain. "The tdc mark stays relatively close to the main timing marker" TDC is the zero (0) mark, to the left of the zero mark at the flywheel there are three marks. First left is 28dgr then 30dgr and the last one 32dgr BTDC. You adjust the timing at WOT and set it to 28dgr...

Won’t stay running 125 force pestoline

Yes it is. The range of the multimeter tells you how high values it will manage at the range you have choose. If you got 164 and 154VDC with the DVA adapter the stator suppose to be bad. You should have 210VDC or higher at cranking speed.

Won’t stay running 125 force pestoline

You have to use a DVA adapter to measure voltage right when troubleshoot CDI ignition systems. A DVA adapter is a single wave rectifier with an electrolytic capacitor and you use it because your are not able to read the peak voltage with a VOM. The DVA adapter rectify the AC voltage in to DC...

1972 Evinrude 40 outboard no spark?

Ignition coils, condensers and points are under the flywheel. If no spark with the remote unhooked pull the flywheel and check. The ignition coils at these OMC engines have tendens to dry out in the insulation. You would see it if they are rotten when you have pull the flywheel. Clean the points...
