    help with 1963 Evinrude 40hp Big Twin #40352D

    I had posted before that I had the Lark. I got to looking at the engine and it is a 1963 Big Twin # 40352D. I need to know if I can use a simplex shifter with this model? Also can i use a starter button and kill switch as I do not have a junction box. Thanks

    1963 Evinrude 40HP Lark 40362D need help

    I have the 1963 model 40 hp of the evinrude Lark. Mine has a connection on the right for the throttle. There is an arm on the left I believe to shift gears? I know my motor is suppose to use the Selectric shifter. But can I use a simplex shifter on it as well? I can not find a selectric shifter...
