    you can cut the head off then slide the manifold outward about 2", and then cut the bolt about 3/4" away from the head. then when the manifold is out, weld a nut to the bit left and unthread.

    why is the clamp ring still in place? take 3 of the 6 bolts you removed and install them in the threaded holes to jack the clamp ring off.

    not until after the motor is out of the boat, and only if you need to. the 6 bolts you removed from the clamp ring hold the PDS housing to the transom shield. you did get the clamp ring off, correct?
