    For grounds on gauges just go from one gauge to another. Its always good practice to install a negative buss when several connections are needed. Most power should come from the battery (+ & -) using 10 awg wire. Here is pic of typical install using Blue sea equipment.

    This is probably right but I'm not seeing the location from this pic It should be here and with both pumps barely pumping, I would start looking for a restriction in the tank pickup tube, collapsing fuel line or other restriction Just for clarification the high pressure test should go here

    This sounds like the fuel pump, clogged fuel filter or other restriction. Checking the fuel pressure would need to get an adapter to screw into the crab from the local auto store. Then make up a Tee with fuel line and adapter and attach to a vacuum fuel pump tester. Pressure should be 4 to 7 psi...

    With exhaust staying cool now, I would lean toward the circulating water pump. The motor is getting water something is just not getting cool water into the block. So if the thermostat is installed correctly (including sleeve item 6), its about the only item left.
