    what would be the symtoms of a bad crankshaft seal ring??????

    Hello , what would be the symptom of a bad crankcase seal ring? 1997 mercury efi is hitting harder on #5 and barely hitting on #6, I have good fire and already swapped the injectors, I thought mybe a worn seal ring on the crankshaft? Thanks for any info, Tim.

    What these components?

    Is the one on the bottom the idle stabilizer? and the one on the top the spark advance module? can both of these be removed? shift interupter dont seem to be working .Thanks, Tim.

    HELP.........merc 150 efi revs to 3000 rpm when turning ign switch to off position

    Does anybody know what would cause a 1997 Merc 150 efi to rev up to 3000 rpm when the key starts to the off position?Maybe bad computer? I installed new keyswitch same thing happens, have new switchboxes and trigger installed still does the same thing, runs rough at idle wont hardly stay...

    Motor gains RPM"S when turning key to off position

    I have a Mercury 150 efi ,been having trouble with it running right at idle starts losing rpms then when i start to turn the key to the off position(about half way from on to off) it picks up rpms and runs good, is this problem in the keyswitch or could it be in the switch boxes? Thanks , Tim.

    Voltage regulator arcs when grounding to powerhead

    I have a 97 merc 150 EFI, I had one voltage regulator burned up the other one looked good, when i removed the one that looked good to clean behind it i went to slide it back on the studs and i got a small arc I know thats not supposed to do that so i guess i'll be buying two regulators...

    What caused regulator rectifier to burn up?

    40 hp mariner misses after warm up

    hello ,my mariner 40hp 4cyl ran great for about 20 minutes,then i throttled down and it started missing bad and would not run good, after i sat awhile it started up and ran fine again until i came off the throttle and it ran rough again, sound like coils or stator? thanks Tim.

    need help motor wont run over 2000 rpm

    my 40 hp mariner 4cyl ran fine wot for about 20 minutes,then as i throttled down it started missing then i went to idle and it was a racing idle at 2000 rpm,i tried to take off but it just bogged down at wot but ran ok at 2000 rpm, i shut it down for about 15 minutes, started it up and ran fine...

    all cylinders read from 120 125 psi ,i pulled the plugs a noticed #3 was not as wet as the others , but they are all hitting ok should this be a problem i should look for such as the reeds?

    I just had this powerhead bored .015 over the machinist said the crank and rods were ok so i reassemled it and took it for a run ,at or oround 2500 to 2700 rpm there is a rattle, sounds like it was coming from the top end, i checked the the flyweel for play and i could rock it just a little bit...
