I bought a newer (2005) Yamaha 150 2 stroke V6 carburated from someone with a smaller boat and it came with a 15 1/4 by 19...

year of 150 yama labeled 07/04 for guage purposes

I was told (but doubt) that my 150 yamaha which states being built in July of 04 (07/04) is actually considered to be a 2005 model. Is this correct. I need to know since I am wiring up a new set of digital guages and they changed some things between 04 and 05 in terms of how these get wired...

Yamaha Salt Water Series versus not stated

I have a newly purchased 150hp 2004 yamaha carburated that is not specified as a "salt water series" motor. I live in Key West Florida and the closest fresh water is basically Lake Ocochobee, hundreds of miles from where I live. Was the designation "salt water series" just a marketing plan or...

Serial number other than on plate at transom?

My serial number is impossible to read on the plate it is printed on. The motor is a 150hp model year 2004. Is there any other place on the motor where the serial number is stamped other than the cheap painted one that is on the plate near the transom?

V6 drawing lots of juice, flywheel creeps when battery switch turned on

After I overheated my 1985 Evinrude 175 V6 carburated it now draws 12 volts the moment I turn the battery switch on, a lot of juice that will quickly draw down a fairly new big deep cycle battery. Telltale sign when I turn the battery switch on, the flywheel turns all by itself, no starter...
