    Mercruiser Alpha 1 tilt trim will raise up by itself?

    I have a 1975 165 hp 6 cly. alpha 1 outdrive that the tilt trim keeps coming up by itself on while the engine is running and in the water. I don't hear the trim motor running at all when this happens. Can anyone tell me why it would do that? Thanks for any help! Ray

    Mercruiser Alpha 1 revs high and slams into gear?

    I have a 1975 165 hp 6 cly. alpha 1 outdrive that shifts fine sometimes but other times it is slow to shift into foward or reverse, I have to rev it high and it slams into gear. Can anyone tell me what can cause this problem? If it was a auto transmission I would think it had a clogged up filter...
