    mercruiser 5.7 2001 bravo 3 O.D. gas.

    not in gear,starboard engine, reaches 5300 rpm. in gear running, reaches max. 3200 rpm. tilt down, tabs level, new bottom paint, 2 person load, new filters in line and carb, all gages normal. port engine fine. top rpm previous 4600 running for both engines.

    have oil and water leaking into bilge. reading articles suggest possible causes for water are, gimbal housing, gimbal ring steering shaft, Ujoint bellows, shift cable bellows. for oil, gear end yoke seal. i know the outdrive must be removed but will the engine need pulling? any info on either...

    emergency start switch.

    dash mounted switch on searay aj, twin bravo 3, 5.7 efi engines. how to check the switch to determine if working. engaging switch gives no results for trying to start either engine.

    bilge pump wiring

    i am surprised nobody knows how to wire a dual(high-low) bilge pump installation with float switches. have searched all sites including manufacturers. boat manual is useless for dual. any ideas.

    bilge pumps

    anyone know where to find a wiring diagram for the bilge pumps in a Searay AJ with 5.0 mercruiser /outdrive 2001 model. has standard and emergency pump. need especially the connection at the wiring harness in the bilge. i am confused on the wiring colors.

    the blue chart program quit working. have checked the chip and all settings on the gps. it was working then quit. do the blue chart chips go bad?

    tachometer hours

    just rebuilt my mercruiser5.0 and want to reset the hours on the tachometer. i have removed the tach and note several openings on the back. any way to reset hours?:)

    BRAVO 3 outdrive. lower gear unit.

    oil leaking from lower gear unit at the junction of the housing and prop. i assume there is a seal around the prop shaft where it enters the housing. if so, is this easy to replace by removing the props?

    transom water leak

    this past summer a leak developed on the starboard outdrive bravo 3 with mercruiser 5.0 engine. i suspect it may be the seal at the swivel pin. had new bellows installed last spring. leaking into the bilge on the starboard side. cannot see exactly due to location at rear of engine. 2001 searay...

    bravo 3 outdrive

    mercruiser outdrive. when going slow(less than 1500 rpm.) turning to starboard there is a dull knocking that seems to come from the outdrive. no sound if going straight or turning to port. its not a metallic clank. it cant be heard at cruise speed. no sound at idle. any ideas appreciated.

    tachometer

    twin mercruisers. new tachometer on port engine. how to calibrate to tach on starboard engine. new tach reads 600 rpm below stbd. have adjusted using set screw in hole on the back of tach but still reads low. using synchronizer to calibrate. any help appreciated.
