    Just replaced my broken L/U with a rebuilt one and now it wont shift. If I pull it apart and shift the linkage works fine and the sleve that mates to L/U moves fine.     Replacing lower unit on 150 vmax

    Does anyone know if there is a trick to reinstalling the lower unit on a 99 150 vmax? I took it to a local shop and after reordering the lower unit 3 times we still can't get the unit to go in alll the way. It stops about 1/2-3/4" short. I'm cartain that the shaft length is correct ..any ideas??

    Problem replacing lower unit

    I am raplacing the lower unit on my 99 vmax 150 and it dosn't want to go in all the way. It stops about 1/2-3/4" short any tips or tricks on doing this??
