    voltage regulator or stator

    2001 40 hps/n ot199135 i had removed the starter and behind iti saw 2 yellow wires runing frome the stator to the voltage regulator the bullet connectors wher melted the stator test ok i have no spec to test voltage regulator any ideas thanks

    i have a 2001 merc with one carb i rebuilt it last year and still have problems with it . cant seam to getthe idle mixture right .the kit i used last year had one heavy spring fore the mixture screw.the new kit has two one heavy and one light both are the same in length witch one should be used...

    loud squeal frome top of 2001 40hp merc

    i have a 2001 40elpto mercury 2 stroke 2 cylinder outboard s/n ot199135 it has a high pitched squeal that comes and goes every 2-4 minutes from idle up to about 3000rpm can hear it with the hood on or off in gear or nutural cant pinpoint wher it comes from thanks
