    Exhaust routing???

    Ive got a mercruiser alpha 1, Gen 1. And instead of putting on a new exhaust tube when I replace the seal kit does anyone see a problem with putting a duck valve (one way valve) up in there and not routing the exhaust down through the foot?

    Over heating....

    I have a 4.3 mercruiser that is getting hot at full throttle but if I back off a bit it will cool down. I replaced the engine driven pump today and it still does the same thing. I checked the lower hose coming out of the engine water pump and it is dry. What is wrong??? Thanks, Robert:mad:

    I recently bought a 1987 wellcraft with the 4.6 mercruiser and the ALPHA 1 OD. This is my first in/out so I need some help. When shifting from forward to reverse the boat will first rev then shift sometimes lurching forward first then slamming reverse. It does this from reverse to foward...
