    removing cover / choke knob on Evinrude E3

    I have a 3 HP evinrude E3 motor, about 1997. I want to access the carburetor so have to remove the lower front cover. How do I get the choke / gas knob off so I can remove the cover? I don't want to break the knob or controls. Also, looks like I will have to unbolt the stop button. Thanks for help.
