    What year did OMC begin rating horsepower at the prop rather than at the crankshaft? How much power is absorbed by the driveline? 3%, 5%? . So, for example a FD series 18 hp Johnson would be rated today as 17, 17.5 hp?

    '56 Johnson AD-10 vs AD-10 M

    Apparently there were 1956 Johnson 7 1/2hp models AD-10 and AD-10 M. According to the OMC parts book, there were different numbers for the gearcase and gearcase bearings, propellers and the tiller arm throttle rods. What was the functional difference between the two motors?

    Need '56 J/E 7.5 hp Cyl. Head Torque Spec
