    1997 Yamaha C90 Two Stroke Reverse Noise

    My engine goes into forward and reverse with zero problems. Sounds normal. However, when I shift into reverse and give it some rpms It make a loud ratcheting sound and pops out of gear. Any thoughts?

    Water and Exhaust Coming from Lower Cowling

    When I started up my C90 Two Stroke Yamaha in the water I had exhaust and water coming from under the lower cowling. I have picture to show location. Oddly enough I started it up on the hose hours before that and all seemed normal. Any ideas? Motor ID is C90TLRV

    Head cover in picture shows what appears to be a rubber type plug I assume is used to divert cooling water around glider more evenly. I know this common on Mercury OB's bit don't know about Yamaha. The bottom cylinder was the only one that had one. Did not see any in the block.
