    1979 johnson 80 hp 2000 rpm at full throttle

    I have 1979 Johnson 80hp Seahorse model and at full thottle it only does 2000 rpm. What problems could cause this so I could check them out. We replaced the ignition coils on all 4 cyl and could the carbs be causing the motor to do this.

    I have a friend of mine who has a 85 hp johnson 4 cyl and he said it is early 80s modle but not to sure.     1975 chrysler 90hp

    I have 1975 chrysler 90hp and put a new seal kit on the lower unit.I took it out ad when I checked the oil it was a cream color. Does any one have any suggestions to what my have caused the leak. I followed the manuel word for word and it seems to be leaking some where by the shift rod leaver...
