I replaced the water pump on my 97 125hp mercury and cant get it to shift with the controls but can unhook the shifter cables and get all gears by sliding the shift block. Is this a shifter cable problem or do i have the shifter rod coupler out of sink? I have had the lower unit on and off about...
I have water in the gear lube and gear lube leaking out water intake. Motor is 97 125hp 2stroke outboard. Getting ready to do water pump and trying to figure out if this is an easy job to do while we have it apart or if i should take to boat shop.
