First let me give you a little info on the motor ... I just bought a 1990 Force / US Marine 150hp CFI Outboard Motor that was still new in crate .... other then maybe at factory , it has never been ran .... Model # 1501X90C .... Ser. # 020451 .... It is installed on a 18.5 foot bass boat...
I have a 1990 Force 150hp.... and I am putting on a new 20 pole tach .... the control box has 4 wires coming out of it ... Black , Orange , Red , and Purple .... What do they hook up to on the tach ??? See Picture ....

I picked up this older Mercury outboard today .... Its a Mercury / Kiekhaerer Merc 100 Ser. # 1291639 ... with a odd gear shifter ... That I have never seen before ..... From the Serial # ... I beleive the motor is a 1960 ... and was this shifter common on them ??? Any info would be great ...
