    Help -2000 40hp johnson ball loses prime @ idle and dies, but fine at higher rpm?

    Cannot figure this one out.... Squeeze primer ball until firm, press in choke and start engine. Warms up fine @ high idle. Drop it down to reg idle and a minute later and the motor begins to stumble more and more and eventually dies. Squeeze the ball and it is empty. If I can catch it early...
