    125 force head gasket

Replacing blown head gasket and damaged head on 1985 125HP. Dealer told me the forces were notorious for blowing head gaskets. Does anyone have any tricks of the trade that might help in installation. PS I have the manual and proper head torking sequence.

    (1985) 125 over heating

OK, my problem on a 1985 125 force is; after running about 30 minutes, we idled down (twin 125's) and the buzzer went off on right unit. Let unit cool down, still would not start. I have no history on boat, previous owner bought it and never put it in water. The unit that over heated had new...

    why bad reputation

New owner of 85 trophy with twin force 125's. Don't understand the bad reputation. I have owned other brands, but the force's seem to be the easiest to work on and well built. Problems with the motors are common to any outboard 25yrs old. You may have to look, but parts are readily available...

    125 stator

Confusion of stators for 1985 125hp, the correct part number is FA615095. When looking up the part it mentions that it replaces 5 differant part numbers, I have found stators for 85hp and up for half the price of the 125s. . So if the 125 stator replaces the ones on the 85s and 120's will the...

    force 125 carbs

I'm rebuilding my carbs on Force 125.00, the cost breaks down to about 80.00 per carb. Merc no longer carries new force carbs, my question is does anyone carry a modern replacement carb for the force engines? Within the last ten years, 2 cycle carbs have made a great deal of improvement in fuel...

    Soda blasting

I'm considering removing some old paint from my bayliner trophy, a friend recommended soda blasting. I'm not looking forward to hours of sanding and the promise of a easier paint removal sounds good. Couple of concerns I have is that it sounds to good to be true and will it damage the gelcoat.
