Trading my 68 sears 4 hp for a 20 hp seahorse that has a broken gearshift. Just wondering if this will be able to be fixed and are parts available? Are these motors reliable? I think its a good deal the work will be done by myself.
I think I might throw in the towel on this motor, the little plastic cup under the flywheel blew apart. Pretty much at WOT there was a nice crunch, I though it was the engine blowing up.
So I think a johhyrude is lookin pretty good right now.

So i made this circuit on a board with point to point soldering , left the trigger coils in the modules and ran wires from them , you dont need any advance unit in the circuit because the advance is controlled by the...
will only start with the choke on, open the choke and dies out, i made a new gasket for the carb anywhere else it could be sucking air from?. The carb is getting fuel but looking at the jet its not sucking it up. making cents ?
this motor sat maybe 20 years and we ran it on the lake for about...
can't find what i'm looking for. wondering what rpm's they run at and how much the spark would advance on them or generally any outboard around the same hp
i have an idea on a fix for the ignition well a new one, i'll share when i've got it running
i have spark on the second (bottom) plug but not the top, switched the transformers around and i have spark on only the bottom once again so i take it the coils are good.
