    Mercruiser 165 4 cylinder

    Hello all.....I need to replace my spark plug wires on my boat and i'm wondering if anyone has ever used wires from a auto part store? I was gonna order some online here, but i'm wanting to get the boat out tomorrow. If so what kind of wires would u even ask for that work? Thanks much!

    mercruiser 165 stalling at idle.

    Hi all......Im having an issue with my mercruiser 165 4 cylinder. The engine runs extremely good until I'm idling around or put the boat in neutral, then it starts stumbling and eventually dies out. Is this a simple idle screw adjustment or something else? The boat is a 1989 ebbtide Riviera 180.

    Charging issue.....need help!!!!

    I bought a 1987 ebbtide 180 riviera a couple weeks ago. It has the mercruiser 470 4 cylinder in it,the gentleman i bought it from took the stator out and put an alternator on this thing. It's not charging the battery, he put a 3 wire alternator on it and im wondering if he has it connected...

    Power steering oil cooler

    Hi guys.....I purchased a ebbtide 180 riveara that has the mercruiser 165 4 cylinder in it. Was out on the water the other day and noticed the top oil cooler nipple was leaking. I tightened the hose clamp,but that didnt seem to work. I also cut the hose back a little thinking the clamp damaged...

    New prop questions...

    I have a 1981 Rinker open bow with a 1981 mercury 80 hp. Spent the day on the lake and got in some shallow water and ruined the prop. Current prop was a solas 13x19 my boat was not hitting the recommended rpm's of 5000 - 5500. I was hitting 4500 - maybe 5000 if i was lucky and running about 35...

    Prop help......

    I have a 1981 rinker 15 foot bow rider with a 80 hp mercury outboard. Not really sure what prop it has on it now,but i'm looking to replace it because it is a little beat up. What prop would you guys recommend i put on it??

    Lower unit drain plug o rings?

    I have a 1981 mercury 80 hp i just recently drained and refilled the lower unit. When i removed the drain and vent screws i noticed there were not any o rings on them. Do i need to put o rings on them or just put them back in there the way they were?

    1981 mercury 80 hp

    I have a 1981 mercury 80 hp 4 cylinder i just baught. The guy i baught it from told me he has been mixing the fuel 40:1 since he has owned it. My question is i see alot of you saying 50:1 on here will running it 40:1 hurt my engine or should i switch to 50:1?
