    stalling and backfires when accelerating under load!

    I have 1985 stingray with mercruiser 140 . When in the water it backfires and tries to stall when accelerating. Could this be bad gas it sat for a long time. When at idle it is fine. If so what is the best way to syphon the gas out. Must have a anti syphon valve. Any help would be great!

    My 1968 merc 500 thunderbolt just dribbles at low speeds but seems to pee really good at high rpms. Has new impeller on it and idol doesn't seem low what could be the problem? Other boats I see have a nice stream all the time. Any advice?
