    Hello all,<br />I have a 1996 48 hp spl johnson that's giving me a little trouble. Sometimes, when trying to punch it out of the hole it bogs and will only run at an almost low idle speed (approx 8 mph). Shutting it off and restarting does nothing either. Other times it gives me no problems...

    leg oil leak

    Okay........here's my problem. I have a 48 Johnson (1995 or 1996). I changed the leg oil yesterday and noticed today that when I was putting it away for the winter, that I now have a leak coming out of the prop seal. It wasn't leaking before I changed the oil and I didn't touch the prop at all...

    fuel mixture

    What sort of ill side effects can result from having too rich of a fuel mixture? I know it will smoke excessively but can it do any harm to the motor?
