How do I test for prop slippage and what advice is there for replacing. I have a 88hp SPL Johnson 1987 model. My boat is a ski boat and it struggle swhen under a load and lately it struggles without a load when I gun it.
I just had my carbs cleaned and kits put it. The boat doesn't idle smoothly and it cuts out sometimes and the no-wake speed is slower than normal. Also the acceleration from slow to fast is very rough and hesitant. Once to speed and at top speed it runs great.
I have a 1987 88hp Johnson V4. It idles badly and the lower left chamber does not fire. I have changed plugs twice and checked the wires. the ocmpression is fine and I have sprayed carb cleaner all int eh carberator without taking it off the motor. Any suggestions?
I have a 1987 Johnson 88hp SPL. It has four cylinders. One of the cylinders leaks water out around the sparkplug and thus does not fire. But the engine does run on the other three cylinders. What may be my problem and how can I fix it?
