    Exhaust Riser?

I think I need a new exhaust manifold and risers. Is there a way to check this? I haven't run my engine in 5+ years. The risers are 13+ years old. I started the engine and it ran, not with water. I then did maintenance on it, new water pumps, refreshed electrical connections, and other...

    Buying an alignment tool?

Is there anything special I need to know about buying an alignment tool? How specific to an engine are they? I see these on eBay and they claim the tool works with a variety of engines, is that correct? Or should I buy from a specific seller? I have a 1994 Volvo Penta 5.0 Fi PMDA V8 w/an SX-X...

    Fuel Line handling?

Ok, so what do people do with their fuel lines when restoring? Mine run from the fuel tank below deck to the filler at the top of the swim platform. The below deck area is going to be flooded with expanding foam. Do you just let the foam encase the line or build a tunnel for the fuel line to...

Yesterday I was working on my boat and wanted to get the bottom of the next floor panel glassed in. It is getting cooler here in Maryland and was about 65 when I started. Took a bit longer than I wanted, but I got it done as the sun set. I came out today to look at the result and the glass...

    Boat Ramp Fail- Inconsiderate

I was down on the Patuxent River in Maryland this afternoon waiting for my turn along with three other boaters, at the ramp to haul out. This guy hauls his boat out of the water, then stops at the top of the ramp, completely blocking the ramp, gets out and walks around the boat inspecting...

    How bad is this?

I am redoing the deck on my boat. I just did the one thing I didn't want to do. Cut through the hull. I was using a cut-off wheel and misunderstood the geometery of the hull where I was trying to remove the old stringer. The cut is about a foot long, 1/8" wide (width of cut-off wheel). Can...

    Rebuilding Deck, First timer

I am starting the rebuild of my deck. A few softspots and the windscreen hard to close because the deck is not supporting the console prompted me to do this work. I had always wondered why my tank was hard to fill, always having to hold the gas nozzle and hold the trigger at the slowest rate...
