    557hc ser# 6263 lower unit bearing needed.

    Does anyone know a cross reference number for the bearing on the prop shaft. It would be the one towards the back, not towards the prop. I see the gear is available but comes with the bearing.     Crap, I busted my lower unti, help with fix (story)

    OK here it goes, I lost forward on my 55hp motor. So I'm on the lake looking over the linkage, perfect. I have reverse, have you ever seen a boat go down the lake in reverse? Funny huh.     Lower unit help!

    Welp I'm in need of a lower unit. I have a 557hc. What other hp's can i use? 35-60 horses work as well right? One more question, how do i drop the unit? Looks simple, but is the shaft connected or slide in?

    55hc won't idle, need a lower unit case also

    OK here it goes. Start it up and runs for a second, and i mean one second. The carb seems real clean, no adjustment screw on it. Compression is good, plugs look perfect. I can rev the motor up and it runs fine. It's getting fuel. Now i guess i need to pull the fly wheel and check the point gap...
