    Suzuki dt4 broken shift rod

    1979 merc 7.5 wont go into reverse

    I picked up a cheap 7.5 mercury 1979. It is in really good shape but wont shift in to reverse. It shifts into forward and neutral fine. It has a wire style shift cable that goesint the lower unit.any ideasmon how shouldmgo about fixing it? Or will i need a new lower unit? Thanks
