    30 hp Mariner (Yamaha) year?

    I'm sure you get tired of searching for year models. I have checked the link on marinshopen.se, but I still can't find my serial number. Maybe I'm not reading it correctly. I have a 30 AM 689 S 001653. I appreciate your help.

    Cover on - won't run

    I replaced the plugs on a friend's 1972 25 hp Johnson because it ran rough with the old plugs. It started and ran much better. But when I put the engine cover back on, the idle began to get slower and eventually died. I removed the cover and the engine started right up. I put the cover on again...
