    How to test Polyester Resin?

435 Standard Polyester Resin Says shelf life is 3 months.... I've had mine for around 6-8 months. The website (US Composites) says that this time may be extended if the container was never opened, and temperatures were good, etc. So, my question: I have this five gallon jug, never opened...

Question regarding types of wood for a rebuild project.

I am rebuilding a Bayliner Capri. Floor is removed, streamers are removed. I'm down to the hull and now it's time to rebuild. Can i get away with using a higher quality Home Depot plywood if I coat it in resin? I found a place in Portland that sells "Marine-grade plywood and they want $140 per...

    Question about PL and stringers...

So I'm learning quite a bit from Friscoboater and his YouTube channel.... But I have a question about stringers and PL.... In one of his YouTube videos, he mentions that the stringers should not be in direct contact with the hull. Instead they should be floating 1/4'' and held in place by PL...

    Question about 3M particulate filters....

So I'm doing quite a bit of work... I've got these filters on my mask, I'm power sanding away the layer of gelcoat off my fiberglass hull and I can smell it while wearing the mask. Am I safe? Pic of my mask below, also here's the link for the filters.

1998 Bayliner Capri 1952 Deck / Transom Project

I know there's quite a stigma around Bayliner boats, but I'm going to put the time and effort into this anyway. It'll be a quite the learning project, I'm barely into this project and I've already learned quite a bit. I'm hoping by posting here, it'll keep me motivated to work on this... ANY...

Question about fuel gauges / sending units..

Hello, I have a Bayliner Capri 1952 (year 1998) I need to replace my gauges, four of them don't work so I'm going to purchase a new set. How do you prevent the fuel gauge from going all over the place due to fuel 'sloshing' in the tank? Is there a special sending unit I can buy? Thanks! -Pete

    Antifreeze level question

Bought a used 1998 Mercruiser 3.0 How much antifreeze is this thing supposed to hold? I filled it to the top, went out on the water for the day and noticed A LOT of antifreeze in the bilge. The overflow hose goes down directly to the bilge (there's no overflow tank). When I pulled the cap...
