I have a 1987 bayliner trophy with the glass fuse style, some of the clips that hold the fuse is not tight (they actually get hot to the touch) should i replace this fuse block with the same style or should i replace it with a newer fuse style? and is it a pain in the butt? I'm just worried...

I picked up a boat back in the winter,and after going over some of the small problems. i started it today, and after warming it up...i brought it back to idle and it back fired every couple seconds.but when i rev it back up and it doesn't back fires until back at idle..any ideals?? thanks...
